There are two things that separate every DJ in the EDM world: first is the music and second is the performance. A Super DJ is able to take over the club with authority, draw the kind of response that leads to nearly half a million Facebook fans, garner some of industry’s best artists to collaborate on his freshman album and has a global-known presence. Yep, we’re talking about Steve Aoki and the iconic DJ/producer unleashed a Wonderland mix-masterpiece upon a privileged audience this past Monday at the infamous XS Nightclub.

For all of those who ever been to a Steve Aoki show, it is no surprise that the Dim Mak’s head honcho was participating in bottle popping, crowd surfing/rafting and whatever on/off-stage antics he does (now cake-smashing too), it never ceases to get old. Just like with any other addictions and vices we all have, it just keeps us feigning for more and more.

XS Resident DJ got things shaking right away with a great opening set and got everyone warmed up for Aoki’s upcoming electrifying energy. The energy instilled in the crowd seemed unsustainable but everyone at XS was about to find out that Aoki was about to fuck shit up. As soon as Aoki took the decks, he started off strong with many of his Wonderland tracks that feature several big industry names such as Kid Cudi, Wynter Gordon, NERVO, LMFAO and Rivers Cuomo which got everyone pumped up for more. Of course, he even included tracks from his previous catalogue such as “Warp” and remix of Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.”

Hours of calf crunching, fist pumping, sweat pouring dancing; Aoki doesn’t let you leave the dance floor and reminds all of us why he’s internationally known. Whether you’re a hardcore fan or were somehow accidently addicted to the charismatic DJ/producer, Aoki gave us a taste of what to expect for 2012 before he treks off on his Deadmeat Tour. World-class music talent, confetti, beautiful people, flashing lights, and an unforgettable night are just a few reasons why XS Nightclub continues to prove to us AND the world why it’s one the best clubs. 2 days of Pure Madness!

As 2011 came to a close and the countdown reached 0, surrounded in a sea of white, we came to realize that we were at the best place to bring in 2012. Weeks before, Heist and Co literally received a countless amount of event invites to attend what others claimed would be the greatest New Year’s party around, but one look around White Wonderland during the countdown the confetti blasting, laser “pew pew’ing” and the pyrotechnics flashing at the Anaheim Convention Center, we knew we made the best decision of all of 2011 to spend it with our Insomniac Events family who brought Orange County its first real WHITE PARTY.

It was no wonder that this event sold out within weeks of tickets being offered. With a line of such magnitude who wouldn’t want to ring in the New Year’s at another one of Insomniac’s star studded events. Every single DJ who performed put on a set that would literally blow you away. My personal favorite’s would either have to be Dadalife’s set from Day 1 [Who doesn't love some bananas and champagne?!] or Steve Angello’s set from day 2 [1/3 of SMH!].

Every single person we spoke to at this event said this had to have been their bestNew Year’s Eve in years!

Thank You Insominiac for such a great 2011, Heist & Co can’t want to see what you have in store for 2012!

Calvin Harris @ Sutra Club

Calvin Harris kills it again. People as far as Oakland came down to Sutra Club Orange County just to get a close glimpse of the great Calvin spin the night away. The only way to spend your labor day!

The completely sold out event crammed club goers in like sardines and as I looked across the crowd the faces all told the same story, “I hope this night never ends!”. I can’t remember much more from the night but luckily we have pictures. One thing is for sure Calvin Harris always kills it!

One of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today, Ron English has bombed the global landscape with unforgettable images, on the street, in museums, in movies, books and television. Last night Heist and Co threw a party at Avec Huntington Beach, and thanks to our friends Timmy and Chris the night reached maximum capacity early on in the night. For those unfortunate ones who missed the cutoff mark enjoy the picutres Halloween pictures you will see this year.

Bigger, Better, Badder! Nocturnal went all out this year 6 different performing stages and a massive party vibe, what more can you ask for?

For everyone who had to go back to school this month, or returned from vacation and back on the 9-5, Nocturnal gave those daydreamers the best gift of all, an extension of their summer!
